Xylitol Toxicity

Many dog owners are unaware that Xylitol (an artificial sweetener), can be toxic to dogs, even when eaten in relatively small amounts. Xylitol, is hidden way in many foods and other products.  If your dog eats a product that contains xylitol, it is important to take the dog to a veterinarian immediately.


Xylitol, can be found in many products but here is a small list of some of the common household products.  

  • Peanut Butter
  • Gum 
  • Toothpaste 
  • Candies
